The Elam
The Elam House was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built for S.P. Elam in 1951. The house has the iconic large cantilevered roof and hard angles I love so much about this era. I took the basic elevation but modified it to accommodate the function I needed in a birdhouse. The trapezoid shaped roof is not part of The Elam house, it actually comes from the Stromquist house which was also designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, but it’s a feature I love so incorporated it.
